Chefs usually have a clear idea of what inner temperature they deem optimal for a certain food. When determining the time it takes for the food to reach the preferred temperature, their experience allow them to arrive very close to the aim, just by relying on their gut feeling. When cooking e.g. meat or fish, it’s common practice that chefs only use a thermometer in the final stages of the cooking process for fine-tuning.
To facilitate this intuitive workflow we designed a thermometer with a classic pen grip allowing for precise insertion and with an accurate and instantaneous read. Other design features inspired by chefs included a super thin needle preventing leaving marks in the food and a digital display that automatically flips around ensuring readability.
